For years the Bündner Kunstmuseum has been prominently present with three billboards in the underpass of Chur's railway Station. This will remain so while the museum is closed due to reconstruction. During this time the artist Alex Hanimann from St. Gallen will be showing a new work there every month.
In the context of his "Gastspiel", Hanimann who with his graphic work is one of the most important Swiss contemporary artists is concerned with the topic "Museum" and "Art". Paramount for the twelve-piece poster series is language, which the concept artist uses as an independent aesthetic medium. His "Facts and Opinions, Conjectures and Assertions" composed sketchily in typewriter script and pencil presents itself in a variety of forms, which range from complex mind maps to extensive term definitions.
At a time in which the Bündner Kunstmuseum is trying to develop new perspectives, Hanimann's varied texts animate the passers-by in the station underpass, to stop for a moment in order to reflect and question traditional notions on art and ist related functions within the museum.
